Further below is the update from February 2012....

In the meantime, for those of you who don't use facebook, this link will take you to some recent photos of our new life in France.  (A tip, when looking at the photos click on the arrows in the top right hand corner of the photo for full screen viewing).

And this link will take you to the website for our self-catering holidays in France.....

Well, life travelling, and in fact "Bessie On Tour - The Adventure" has come to an end..... as a new adventure has begun.  There will be no more UK summer campsite work for us, no more 'just travelling' over the winters.  We have new seeds to sow!

Our 2011/12 winter was spent house-hunting in France, and spending quality time with friends.... meeting new friends and getting into the French way of life.  We also spent a very relaxing month in Spain with Jools' parents, lapping up the sun and resting because we knew 2012 was going to be a big year for us.

We are very pleased to say we have bought our 'dream home and business'.  We moved in at the tail end of January, and after 2 weeks of the coldest, longest spell that France has ever known - we are now in the depths of serious hard work to get our venture spic and span for the 2012 season !!  We are the proud new proprietors of 2 fishing lakes, and 2 gites (self-catering cottages) and a reasonable bit of land.

Our new life is now in Secondigny, in the Poitou-Charentes region of Western France.

This link takes you to the information about our Gites.  Might we see you here on holiday???

Simon, Jools, Sadie and Stella thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your interest in our adventure.  We've loved the feedback you've given us, and have enjoyed being a little bit of inspiration for some people who wanted to make major changes in their lives.  Every day we have thanked our lucky stars that we are fortunate enough to be able to live this way of life, we've had such fun working on campsites, and just as much fun travelling and meeting people.  We're so glad we've had the chance (and the guts) to find that there is more to life than the 'normal' lives we took for granted before we launched!

Our travelling days are not completely over.  We will never part with our beloved Bessie, she's part of the family, and we are in the best country to benefit from free places to stay as we get to know our chosen home country even better.  But for now, we're a bit busy!  Keep an eye on the website though.... if we nip out for mini adventures, we'll no doubt share it with you.

Be happy and live each day to the full xxxxx
